 “Do you think it is possible to have a discussion amidst the deafening noise of bomb blasts and gunshots? So, to have a reasonable discussion, first the blasts and gunshots have to stop,” said the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, to a national English news channel in a recent interview. Political parties in India have been following a somewhat similar policy so far as relations with Pakistan are concerned. As a principle opposition party BJP has traditionally rendered all support to the ruling UPA coalition in meeting the recalcitrant challenges and misadventures emanating from the neighbouring country.
